Accreditation and Curriculum

The course meets curriculum requirements set by the National Health Career Association (NHA), National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), and the New York State Education Department. It is geared towards preparing graduates for the NHA Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) Professional Certification. The curriculum, approved by the New York State Education Department and the Accrediting Council for Continuing Education and Training (ACCET), encompasses both theoretical knowledge and clinical training.

Target Audience

This course is suitable for individuals seeking employment as Phlebotomy Technicians, especially those considering nursing careers or currently employed in the medical field seeking professional development. It is highly recommended for nurse aide assistants with a valid CNA license who wish to become certified phlebotomists. The program can also be combined with Electrocardiography and CNA programs, enhancing opportunities to work as entry-level Patient Care Technicians.


Participants will receive a phlebotomy textbook, uniform, and supplies. The program includes preparation for the NHA Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) exam, which can be taken at New Age Training as it is an NHA Approved Testing Center.
